Finding a way through to key decision makers
The challenge
Wayfinding encompasses the many ways in which people orient themselves in physical space and navigate from one place to another. It can be applied to urban spaces, town centres, retail property and busy environments such as stadia, airports and railway stations. My client, a specialist in wayfinding, always takes a stringent strategic approach that has to be conveyed succinctly, ensuring all procedure and intricacy is covered.
During one of our three-monthly new business catch-up meetings we agreed that a new target would be urban designers working for leading landscape architects.

The Terrier gets to work
I compiled an extensive list of designers via LinkedIn and started to make contact. My approach to one particular company led to an engaging conversation with a senior member of the team and a date set for a meeting where my client could discuss more fully their experience of wayfinding within public places.
Following this meeting my client was invited to tender for the wayfinding aspect of a major town centre development in the North East region, a project covering strategy and the design and implementation of all signage.

The result
After submitting a proposal and costs my client won the project, which represents significant value to the business, and work is now underway. This was just one of four leads that were successfully converted within a six-week period.
